It’s when you combine the three — two people with a deep emotional bond
connecting to nature, together — that the real magic happens. So, do I care
about taking stunning photos of your adventure elopement or wedding?
Hell yes. But, more importantly, I care about creating an environment for you
and your partner to have that next-level connection with one of your favorite
PNW places. If we can do that, gorgeous photos will come easily.

Once upon a time, there was a little kid in Idaho who borrowed her mom’s film
camera to take pictures of plants and nature. When she grew up, she moved to the
forests of Washington to study photography and dreamt of being a National
Geographic photojournalist. She sought adventure everywhere she could: by
working in event coordination, doing project management for tech companies,
and even moving to Thailand. But, after searching far and wide, she found her
biggest adventure at home in Portland: pursuing her photography dreams full-time
in the great outdoors of the Pacific Northwest.
I know you’ll be shocked to learn that the kid in this story is me. I started Venture
Ever After (formerly Nadia Joyce Photography) in 2010, but if you can’t tell by
now, this business isn’t just about photography. My love for this work has grown
even deeper over the years, into protecting the landscapes that saved me and
nurturing the people who love it as much as I do.

My two favorite things are being surrounded by trees (I
love living in Issaquah, WA!) and tedious tasks.
In all seriousness, though, it’s a gift to love
administration. Being a part of Nadia’s team, I get to
support her doing the work that she loves, which is the
work that I love. And you get a seamless client
experience, to boot!
Win-win-win.

Notice photography isn’t on that list. That’s because, in my experience, when you put people and the planet first, good photos come naturally.
Nadia photographed our micro wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic, so she was one of only four other adults at our ceremony. She is a wonderful human who has an incredible knack for capturing all the special moments while staying out of the way of them. She added to the fun on our wedding day by just being her, and her time management and planning support were a huge stress reliever. And wow - her photos are AMAZING.
My husband and I are both perfectionistic designers with a combined 30 years of experience between us - we don't hand out aesthetic compliments unless they're well deserved. Nadia also provides super responsive customer service. I seriously don't know where she finds the time to do all she does and do it so well.

Nadia was incredible. From our very first phone call with her, she was personable, professional, and very attentive. She is very organized and really made us feel taken care of. Out of all of our vendors, she made us feel the most at ease.
We knew that she was thinking ahead about the all the little details that come up as you approach the big day. She was so genuinely excited about our wedding and getting great pictures. Nadia really knows what she is doing, she even had prompts for us during our couples photos that created really cute and candid shots, which was great for me as a camera shy person!

Nadia is nothing less than exceptional! If you do not use her for your
wedding, you will come to regret it!
From our initial call to post-wedding, she went above and beyond.
She is an excellent communicator, professional, a logistical wiz, and
the warmest, kindest person to work with.
There just are not enough words to possibly describe how amazing
every photo that Nadia snapped. She has mastered her craft. She has a
magical way of finding the perfect angle, lighting, and captured
moments that my husband and I will treasure forever.

I waited entirely too long to write this - don’t sleep on Nadia! She was amazing, from the beginning to the end. She is so quick responding to anything we asked, and even after we got our photos she remains wonderful.
She made the whole process fun, easy, relaxed, and we ended up with the most beautiful and natural pictures. They came out so much better than anything I could have imagined.
I can’t recommend her enough. You should hire her immediately!

My wife and I planned our wedding from across to country before moving to Oregon, and Nadia was there to help and support us from day one. Anything we needed she was right there, and was always willing to help in anyway she could outside of just our photography needs.
Our wedding plans fell apart just weeks before the big day due to COVID, and Nadia was right there helping to replan the whole day, and sharing her wonderful husband and doggos as our wedding witnesses and attendees.
The whole day was just perfect, and a large part of that is due to her.
